US shocks the world, tops Spain

The United States will contest the Confederations Cup final after causing a huge upset in Bloemfontein on Wednesday by inflicting Spain's first defeat since 2006.

Jozy Altidore and Clint Dempsey scored the goals as the underdog Americans, having lost their opening two games in the tournament and only squeezing through Group B by the skin of their teeth, set up a final showdown against either Brazil or hosts South Africa on Sunday.

EARTQUAKES WIN !!!!!

GOAL!!!!!!!!! GOAL, GOAL, GOAL, GOAL.....

I could hear that echo in my head for hours after the game. What a great feeling after a great game.

For anyone who didn't make the game you missed a dominant return to form by the Earthquakes. Our thoughts for the moment are with Jason Hernandez who came off early with what looked to be a re-hash of his calf problem.

Still no Darren Huckerby running on the wing but I think Bobby Convey has really stepped up and I can't wait to see him back in midfield with Darren on the wing.

GO SAN JOSE!!!!

This Saturday’s game against the Galaxy slime in Oakland promises to be a thriller. Be there to watch Landon regret his decision to leave San Jose, and to enjoy the fireworks show after the game.

But first, a few updates for our fellow members…
